The Tenth Interdisciplinary Perspectives
on Accounting Conference

Cardiff Business School
Cardiff University
11-13 July 2012

Conference Announcement

The IPA conference is an established forum for research into the social, political and organizational aspects of accounting theory and practice. The organizers of the Tenth Conference invite researchers from all areas of the social sciences to contribute papers.

The Conference is the premier conference for the interdisciplinary study of accounting, bringing together accounting researchers with broad social science interests and researchers from other disciplines such as anthropology, organizational analysis, philosophy, political economy and sociology. The organizers aim to highlight emerging intellectual issues and encourage new agendas, as well as stimulate debate within and between established paradigms, by arranging a variety of workshops, panel discussions and plenary debates. The IPA conference has long sought to respond to the concerns of an evolving research community.

A distinctive feature of the IPA is the constructive evaluation that each paper receives. The usual format of a session comprises the presentation of the paper by the discussant (approx. 20 min.), the authors' response (approx. 10 min.) and an open discussion (approx. 15 minutes). Reviewers and discussants are central to the continuing success of this conference and we encourage wide participation in the conference through the discussant process. The paper in electronic form (Word) or three copies of completed papers should be sent to the organizers no later than 17 February 2012.

EMERGING SCHOLARS’ COLLOQUIUM
IPA2012 will host a forum specifically for post-graduates and new Faculty, which will be held immediately prior to the conference.

If you would like to register for the conference, submit a paper, attend the emerging scholars’ colloquium and/or be a discussant, details of what to do next can be found at our website. We are happy to discuss potential contributions.
