Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor of Accounting



The Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance within the Faculty of Commerce at Lincoln University, New Zealand, is seeking to recruit a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor of Accounting.

The Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance strives for excellence in teaching, research, and professional development in accounting, economics and finance. The Department delivers an internationally accredited professional accounting programme at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels. The accounting, economics and finance programmes have a particular emphasis on Lincoln University’s areas of distinctive competence: natural resources, agribusiness, and innovation. Accounting, economics and finance staff are encouraged to participate in academic and applied research projects.

Candidates must have demonstrated ability to contribute to relevant research, teaching, and curriculum development. While all areas of research and teaching emphasis will be considered, there is a preference for those candidates with a focus on one of the areas related to natural resources, sustainability, agribusiness, innovation, or commercialisation.

A PhD, strong record of relevant research, postgraduate mentoring capability, and the capacity to develop relationships with staff in all departments in the Faculty of Commerce, industry and professional associations are key attributes for this position. You must have the ability to identify research opportunities and encourage and lead their realisation.

An attractive remuneration package reflecting the skills and experience of the successful applicant will be negotiated. Starting date is also negotiable.

Lincoln University is located in rural setting at Lincoln, an attractive, rapidly growing and culturally diverse town just outside Christchurch, New Zealand’s second largest city. The campus offers easy access to the business community, and cultural centre of Christchurch city. Pristine beaches, snow-capped mountains and stunning rivers are within easy reach of Lincoln.
